Creating Opportunities for Students
Honoring the Memory of one of Del Rio's Finest Educators
Dr. Perez dedicated his career to his hometown of Del Rio, TX. He was an outstanding educator and administrator. More importantly, he was a loving husband and dad, and a loyal friend.
He exemplified hard work, integrity, and compassion. Although his life was cut far too short, his legacy continues through the seeds he sowed in his family, his friends & loved ones, and the San Felipe-Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District.
This scholarship program is dedicated to his memory, and to his mission of helping students reach their full potential.

There are so many natural resources in Del Rio, and we don't mean water, oil, or minerals. We're talking about our kids!
Dr. Perez was one of the best natural resources Del Rio ever produced. After growing up in Del Rio and graduating from Del Rio High School, he pursued higher education. And then he came back home so that he could impact his hometown. His career spanned nearly 30 years, all of them in the San Felipe-Del Rio CISD. He was a teacher. An elementary school Principal. An Assistant Principal. And finally, the Principal at Del Rio High School.
At every stop, he invested in those he was in charge of: Students. Teachers. Other administrators.
His legacy is one of pouring into others, serving something greater than himself, and being an example of love and kindness.
The Foundation is dedicated to helping students who show similar potential by investing in their education and development. Our hope is to provide scholarships to as many deserving students as we can, and to create a community of "Perez Scholars" who will continue to live out Dr. Perez's legacy of service, love, and kindness
